And.....What's a "Pitcairn" Stearman? I feel like I ought to know about that.....looks like a maybe a Pitcairn fuselage with Stearman wings??

The whole airplane is a Stearman 75 with alterations to get early 30's mail plane looks:

A clever and atractive modification.

It is cool looking!

I'm assuming, then, that the term "Pitcairn" is simply a nod to the "mailplane" look and that there is no particular "Pitcairn" connection???

Steve, how about some i.d. on these? BTW I really like your group shot artsy photos, especially the one of the round engines.

I had my dog with me and Sunday morning we stopped by the field on the way out to take some departures, so naturally I had to put her in a shot or two :wink:

Hi Doug, What kinda ID you want? N #'s or A/C make and model? Most of the shots I put up U should be able to read the N # so u can look it in FAA data base and it will give you make and model... If you cant read the N # let me know or copy which photo (A/C) you want ID'd and we'll see what we can do :wink:

Does anyone has accurate color pictures of Fleet NC771V? I particulary like this aircraft coloring. This aircraft has been at this year's biplane expo.

Got it Steve. Just an enthusiasm before thinking reaction. duh. I'd like some background behind that Fokker DVII. Gotta be a replica as valuable as an orig. would be, right? Pretty dog. Border Collie?

As for the Fokker here are a couple more pics, oh and I added in an SE5 that is in the Museum there.

The N# is 1918P, you can see in the cockpit shot the Experimental data tag below the RPM guage. Here's the FAA print out on it: Unfortunatly the sign for the A/C was built into the step(pretty clever!) and I didn't get a pic of it and I'm not sure what kind of engine it has?

Ranger engine, converted to run upright. Note both wings are one piece, constant chord, but taper in thickness from root to tip, a challenge to build, with tapered box spars.
