This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Very understandable James & not surprising.

Moderating is NOT an easy job and requires a heck of a lot of time.

Time that can & needs to be spent elsewhere.

In my opinion too, nobody has to be a moderator for too long on a popular public forum. Just too demanding long term.

You did a great job at it & thank you for the time spent at it.

Just stick around as a poster will ya ? You are too much of a precious ressource for the community.

Best regards.

Mgawa,

While Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Rhodesia, and the USA all share British ancestry, they are today independant Nations with their own identities, cultures and unfortunately their own Bigots as well.

That's too bad, you seemed like the only moderator who really took the no politics thing seriously. Don't let the nut jobs get you down. Best of luck to you in the future.

I'm really sorry to hear this, James. I'll join others in hoping that you'll remain on this board, sharing your knowledge and you presence.

I much regret JDKs decision to resign from the position of moderator, but can quite understand his reasons. He did not say he was quitting the forum and I look forward to reading his future contributions. My old school motto was 'Manners Maketh Man' and JDK could be relied on to exhibit his good manners whereas there are some totally without manners - so what sort of men do they think they are?

Thank you Mark :D

I do love a good flounce. :)

Time James to hand the baton over and not take all this too seriously.

I thought you handled the job with intellegence, insight and good humor. While your decision is totally understandable, it is sad.

Just in case some of you have'nt seen some of the quality contributions our Moderators are asked to put up with....

can't you find some Aus. wedsite to rule? ... your such a loser!!! ... ban me brother, if you have the balls to do it, which I know you don't .... I've been asking for months to get the boot and you can't seem to do it ... do it now *sshole ... I'd love to go away ... losers like you ruin it for the rest of us ... delete it now before the rest of WIX see's this ... loser!!!!

....and why we need quality Moderators like James,
(and less posts like this) - and why its a thankless task,
and why Scott obviously gets so frustrated with the crap some post here!

Like many before me have said on this thread James, your hard work, calmness, sensible and sensitive handling of situations and good humour in the face of a lot of flak form a minority up till now has been greatly appreciated. This forum improved markedly over the time you have been on the moderation team. Recently it has been much more calm and enjoyable and I've looked in more regularly than I used to, and I think that has largely been your influence.

Having said that, I don't mean to detract from the good work of the other moderators - you're all appreciated. I know that moderating a busy forum isn't easy, and there's much more work behind the scenes than the average reader ever sees. I for one would never want to be the guy who tries to moderate the melee of wild opinions on Wix.

The banning of a few troublemakers was a good idea to retain order, no matter how much we miss their good sides. Iy has largely worked but sadly there are always people here who have not learned any lessons from the examples made and they think such action is their cue to move up a slot in the troublemaker ranks and take the place of the departed.

I find it sickening to see some of the abusove and racist posts made against James, publicly. God only knows how bad the private messages is he has received. There is a small undercurrent of very nasty, angry, bigotted, abusive, argumentative and sick people using this forum among the genuine majority of good enthusiastic people, who have consistently made the forum rather unpallitable. During Jmaes's time I feel they have been kept fairly well at bay. Before he was moderating I had no interest in Wix for some time, it was undesirable to say the least. I fear with James now stepping down these idots will rise again and the forum will be worse off. If that happens, I will no longer bother to read and participate. Life's too short.

James, thanks again for your much appreciated time at the helm, keeping the ship steering in the right direction.

I'm sure someone else can step up and do it..........

Hopefully things will get somewhat better here.

James- Too many on this site respect your opinion. The periodic invectives that explode on this site should all go to an argumenative thread and not on any on this site. If folks want to get into that kind of crap, let them have at it some where else. I liked Bill Greenwood too, but lets restore and fly and find Warbirds!
