I found my old Hawk set, but not the base (I know it's around somewhere; maybe I'll have a chance to look this weekend):



I was partly right about the fifth plane in the set... it's the prototype for the F-84F, the YF-84F.

My apologies for the lousy cell phone pic. Hopefully the instructions will be located as well, but I'll be happy to find the plastic Air Force emblem and at least one of the clear plastic arms which held the plane.

are you sure it was manufactured by 'Hawk'?

I'll provide further documentation as soon as I can find it, but this was a kit I actually had as a kid, not one I acquired along the way. I do still have my old Revell catalogs, and have been aware of these other multi kits since back in the day.

And yes, there WAS a kit comprising maybe 30 or so small models similar in size to these, but I assure you, this is not it. The wall-mounted display included with my set of five aircraft was a clear plastic U.S. Air Force emblem, approx. 8" in length. I am certain I still have it somewhere, most likely at my recently-deceased father's house. I will offer further information as it becomes available.

As a kid I used to hoard all my model boxtops, but my mother finally made me throw them away. I did manage to save many of the instruction sheets though. Funny how even as a youngster I could sense the collectability of them. It's doubtful that I have the sheet from this set, but it would be awesome if it did turn up. I would like to be able to document these once and for all, as there doesn't seem to be any information available on the Internet thus far.

It's not about whether I am right or wrong; it's about having accurate information. If I am wrong, I would love to see the actual documentation on this. I realize that my words are merely hearsay at this point, being a newcomer to this forum. I intend to follow up with whatever proof I can muster regarding this kit (and similar ones).

I have just never come across a hawk kit like what you are describing. Revell kits yes, but never a Hawk kit.

I love Hawk. They made great Chrome birds back in the 60-70's. Models were super shiny chrome T-33 etc.

Thanks and my mother also tossed all my boxes, with kits in them as well.

OK, I wasn't able to find that display base I was looking for, but I did find something of interest. It's an old Hawk box top from the Gee Bee kit. Look at what it has on the side panel:

I knew my memory was still good. This is some solid information regarding this (what would appear to be) rare kit.

I'll keep an eye out for that base. Like I said, I KNOW I still have it someplace.

So judging from all the wonderful and interesting posts, my four aircraft are from the Hawk Jet Power Korea kit.
Very interesting. I really like the detail and size and I just never knew there were so many of the small scale stuff out there from the 1950's.
