This morning they played a D day memerial on the radio.
I drove a hydroplane a few years back at Clayton New York Named Airborne 101.
He turned up with his boat but didnt have a place to stay. I ended up sharing my room with him.
The owner Grandon Johnson was a veteran of the first airdrop into France. He said that of all the guys that he was dropped in with only a handful survived the war (I think he said

He lived in Nth Carolina. I lost track of him. Does anyone know if he is still alive?

Upottery was open on the 6th and 7th...but real D-Day weather ruled the 6th out but managed to fly in there today...
Not many "Warbirds' made it but these two added some atmosphere even though one is from another era..
Good display put on by the volunteers...
Some C-47s that didn't make it back...
Youngsters...
Display was in a cow shed which was there when the C-47 squadrons were there...a dry place with the rain showers threatening all day...
Even a Classic Car display...this is actually my next door neighbour with one of his cars...
Glad I had permission to land
Just one of the many restorations and equipment on show...
