I have nothing against the Jewish folks out there, BUT.....or president was touring the concentration camps in Germany....no doubt that was an evil time in the history of the world. I am a bit tired however of that old playing card coming out all the time...perhaps he should in turn take his Jewish hosts in Germany to the Normandy cemeteries and point out how many brave folks from all nationalities, races and religious beliefs gave the only thing anyone truly owns, their life, to try to stop the barbarism of the Germans. And remember Normandy represents a small fraction of the total life lost during WW II.

Can't let this go without comment.

As you are probably aware, the President's great uncle helped liberate a subcamp of where the President visited today. He spoke today about the lifelong effect the war and the aforementioned liberation had on his great uncle. This uncle, by the way, will be joining him in Normandy tomorrow for ceremonies there.

He was also the first President to visit a concentration camp sight on German soil...all others have visited sites in other countries. His hosts were the German people...Chancellor Angela Merkel, in particular. His guests were camp survivors. I'd imagine that at least Elie Wiesel will join him there as well.

I would respectfully suggest that the President has this agenda laid out rather well, and that there is nothing at all wrong with his various stops along this route.

I am left somewhat taken aback by the casual reference to the extermination of 10 million people of all sorts of humans as 'that old playing card'.

ah too bad...

Well, by that logic, why do you care about June 6th then? Heck, that happened nearly a year before the concentration camps were liberated. Wouldn't that make it more ancienter history?

I am NOT, by th way, suggesting that June 6th should be ignored. I had a great uncle wounded there. I am simply pointing out the fallacy in logic.
