Hi Guys and Gals, just thought i'd share with you some great news from the land of OZ. It seems the twin seat CAC Boomerang that has been under restoration at Caboolture for a couple years is nearing its first flight!
I've been told this is likely to occur on the 10th June....so will try and get a couple photos to share.

For once someone that uses common sence while rebuilding a plane. I have seen too many T-6 rebuilds that they stick the wings on too soon. All that does is give you alot more walking to do and slows you down. The wings take a day to install and rig, but can cost alot more than in time wasted walking that extra 40 ft several dozen times a day.

I always liked the look of the CAC Boomerang, it just looks like a sporting plane if I say so...
What are the flight characteristics like and what would it compare with in the more common warbird ranks? Quite a few folks think it looks like a T-6, but the shorter, elliptical wing and increased power must make it a lot different.
For those of you who know the engineering behind it, just how much does it have (if even measurable) in common with the Wirraway in reality? Certainly, from the outside, doesn't seem like much.

Wow, that's just awesome! I love it when rare types return to the air. Congrats to everyone involved!
Is that a 100% Boomie or does it have any T-6 parts on it? Not being critical, just curious as to what it took to get it airworthy.
