Some bad news, C-1 is off as is the A-26. P-51 Quick Silver is on and hopefully stays on.

:(

Unfortunately with the loss of the C-1A Trader, AD/A-1 Skyraider, A-26 Invader and especially the F-100 Super Sabre, the Indy Show went from a very good and unique show for warbirds to a bust as far as warbirds are concerned in my opinion.

Oh well - maybe next year.....

Incorrect - like everything else on WIX. No engine problems. Not attending for other reasons.

Ed,

Sorry you won't be able to be at Indy. You have a beautiful Skyraider that is a welcome addtion to any air show.

Just to put a little defense up for "Flying Illini," he got his information on Air Show Buzz from someone involved with the air show. Maybe it should have beeen verified, but I know his intentions were good.

You have the right to cancel going for whatever your reasons are and I think most of the members of WIX respect your right and privacy on that.

I do think that "Incorrect like everything else on WIX" is a little strong. Yes we see some off the wall stuff from time to time, but a lot of GOOD information from good people gets posted here, also.

Sorry Guys - My beef is not with you.

I am not going to Quad City this year. Ken Hopper deceided the Spad was too much of a gas hog for his budget. Understandable.

As for WIX, the reason I have pretty much quit posting is partly because of the fact that so much that is posted is inaccurate.

See you at a show in the future.

Eric

Still looks like it will be worth going to me. Still got plenty of fighters and enough military statics to make the 4 hour drive worth it. I wouldn't be surprised to see upwards of 5 P-51s at this years show, with the American Icon Tour plus some of the local Mustangs. That plus P-47, F4U-5, Wildcat, Sea Fury, YAK-9, Harpoon, Heritage Flight, Mig-17, T-33, etc. still make it worth it to me.

Just received a call from the show director...

1. It's pouring rain today and mud is becoming as issue. So, everyone cross fingers and toes that it stops and the field dries quickly so we don't have parking and grounds issues.

2. For those interested in webcasts - the tv station who has been partnering with the show felt they could not financially support webcasting the show this weekend. Unfortunately, that decision just came down last week. Due to the lateness in the timeline, the show has decided they did not want to slap together a less than stellar way of bringing the show to the web. Yes, ways are available to get in done in a short time, but the show does not want the quality to suffer. Energies will be put into making a great DVD of the show instead. Hope everyone understands.

Hope to see you around soon Eric!

Tom Wood's P-51 and T-6 arrived today, my dad flew the '6 to MQJ, and Frank Strickler flew the Mustang.

Here are some shots of our day leading up to taking the planes to the show. I didn't take time to really edit much of them, I'm sorry about that.

Here's Jim, Wayne, and Frank putting the cowl back on the Mustang...

Frank and my father took the T-6 for a spin too...

Here they are WAY across the airport...

See you guys at the show!
