scfan, that would have been Pete Franks. He hangars next to us at EFD. He told me he was going over Friendswood to shoot some pictures. Pete also has a Baron and, Mig 15 UTI and a Mig 21.

I saw em getting ready to pull the Stearman out as I left today, given the amount of no-gos he's had that I've seen thats good to hear.

Around 4:30 this afternoon heard a different engine noise, looked up and saw a smoke trail then the Collings F4 over Clear Lake City, doing a couple touch and goes @ Ellington.
Also a C130 just a few minutes ago.

I took this photo early this afternoon while working on Chuckie. The PT-22 and B-25 both flew later in the day, but the C-49 is getting some TLC this weekend.

Here are the B-25's at Mount Comfort, Indiana. (Doolittle Raiders and Take Off Time). They did the fly-over for the Indy 500.

On Saturday, flying over Witham (Essex, England):

approx. 11.30am - unknown, possibly Spitfire (certainly Merlin-engined).

approx. 2.30pm - two Mustangs, and again a couple of hours later, in close formation.

I think it was the Southend airshow at the weekend, so they were possibly heading there.

Today should be a great day for this thread. Thanks to the Waukesha Warbirds, just had a four ship of T-6/Harvards followed by a four ship of 3 T-34's and a Yak.

Heard a Mustang, Petie 2nd, and would expect that a T-Bird was in formation with Petie but couldn't get out soon eneogh to confirm.

Thank you Veterans! Everyone have a great day!

Really? Did you get Attu Warrior in the air, then? Great job!

Who was in the left seat?

Congratulations, Dave--I know you've poured blood sweat and tears into that project.

What aircraft are out there with high wing, t-tail and four old style jet engines?

I saw something today which looked and sounded exactly like a C-141. Too narrow for a C-5, and too long for a C-17. Are there any C-141's still in service in specialized rolls (NASA, Wright-Pat.) or are they all done.

This aircraft was in the pattern for Dulles, but I only saw it from directly below. The engines sounded just like the very early 70's era high bypass types... unusual these days. Russian perhaps?

Cheers,
Richard

Hey,PJ....any idea what time those Mitchells left Mt Comfort, and which way they went? I saw a 25 fly over my hometown of Springfield, Ohio while waiting for today's parade to start, around 0930. It was at the right altitude to have come out of Indy.

Heard a rumblin outside this morning, so I dashed out of the house to check it out, and saw a flight of 8 T-6's headed for a flyover at a parade.
