This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

This bird must have seen "Battle of Britain" too many times!
1st attack... got me (back of my head)
2nd... I took my pictures! (She was mad!!!)
3rd,4th,5th attack the damm thing came out of the sun!
Beware the
HUN IN THE SUN!!!
I used my fire skills... drop and roll...drop and roll.
After that I was gone...

Holy cr@p, you were attacked by a friggin' hawk, and shot photos of the whole thing? I can't decide if that's incredibly awesome or incredibly hilarious... so I'll go with both.
Fan-friggin'-tastic series of photos, and the last few of that hawk zeroing in on you would make a hilarious animated gif.
Great stuff, bluedharma, glad you're safe!

I suppose you now know WHY you should NEVER wear a grey suit and Mickey Mouse ears when taking photos outdoors...

On a serious note... The aircraft looks great and it is at APA for awhile.
Anyone in the Colorado area should check it out!

OK, here is another theory for you Blue....maybe the Hawk was just plain mad at the fact they have been flying with ease for a few thousand years, and you were paying way too much attention to the B-25 and the T-6, and she (he) had enough and wanted you to pay attention to them instead of people flying around in metal cigar tubes ???
Don't know for sure,....you could have even been in an episode of the Twighlight Zone, not 24 as well

The following occurred for Bluedharma between the hours of 10:00AM and
11:00AM May 17,2009 at APA in Colorado, United States.

Scouting photo locations for the B-17 Aluminum Overcast and B-25H Barbie III as runway 17L/35R is closed.
Taking photos at the South end of APA with WIX member jlittle2.
Was going to go out into the field, but there are rattlesnakes out there.
Trying to find the perfect spot for photos.
I kneel down to steady the next shot of a bizjet and I hear a rattle sound about 4 inches from my knee.
This is what was there.
Here is Jlittle2 photo.
I thought is was a rattle snake. Lucky me only a Bull snake.
Still scared the C##P out of me.
On a good note, the spot looks like it will work well for photos this summer.
