Is the "grassy knoll" off McArthur Rd? From Google Earth that area looks like a good spot and I think there is parking in that area.

Better up-close and personal view? Thought that was why they finally moved it 3 years ago.
Kinda liked not looking right into the sun and having plenty of room.
:?

Are you guys sure you are interpreting that correctly? I agree that it would suck if they went back to the old crowd line and flyby pattern. But to me "flight line" means where the aircraft are parked when not flying. I would support moving the fighters back to that taxiway among the reenactors where they used to be.

If this map is current, August is probably correct. We might be confusing "flight line" and "show line". Let's hope so.

I'll be there on the MAAM tug crew moving airplanes about. Hot as a frying pan last year. My lips got sunburnt - never knew that was possible.

Bummed that Indianapolis moved there airshow to the same dates as Reading. In Indy, I've been working on HotStuff, but I have more MAAM seniority. My personal goal is to get the stars to line up and fly with the Harpoon to MAAM's WW2 weekend.

Cheers!

It will be great to see an airworthy Dauntless, Helldiver, and Avenger all in one spot. :D

It has been entirely too long since the Dauntless appeared at Reading, I would hope the aforementioned there would fly with Skyboss. Am I wrong in that I thought the DuPont Wildcat was on the roster? It's a shame that the only year POF brought out their F6F it rained the entire weekend. A return visit should be in order!

It was, but has since changed owners, now with Fighter Factory. Oddly, there is nothing from FF on the roster this year, for the first time I can remember.

I'm sure we all wish that were possible. But ...

You make a good point and JUST ONCE I would love to see the Factory send up Ishak! THAT would make for a very cool W.W.II weekend.

Yes, I do recall the tragic loss of Mr. Vance and the F6F. Hard to believe that was '05, though my life was rather blurry at that point anyhow.

We arrived in Reading late this afternoon for our first time at this show. After checking in we drove out to the airport. Saw a C-47 in the distance. Two Mustangs made a pass and then came around for landing. Also, while at the motel, Yankee Lady flew over, beautiful.
1-2 inches of rain are forecasted for tomorrow.

Oh boy. I am reading a clear weekend and the weather picking back up Monday on my end. Hopefully this will be the case and we can enjoy a dry, warm weekend.
