Yep, I saw it too...a white one in the Ellington pattern for about an hour.

Hey Scfan, similar to what you saw last night? USN Boeing E-6A or B variant? Almost a polar white or very light gray..

I think Collings was in Long Beach over the weekend and maybe headed up to Camarillo?

I was over at the neighbors this morning and the sound of large radial engines made me dash out to the backyard just in time to see a PBY heading towards michigan ,it was flying from the east north east and heading west southwest. I didnt have a camera handy but it hard strange looking markings camo flage on it. Wheels were up but wing floats down and didnt appear to have a front turret and couldnt tell if the blisters were fitted or not. Paint looked like all over grey with shaded blue on the fuselage... Sorry I didnt get a pic or better details but was a very nice site to see.. only about 500 feet up!

Not sure, I thought it was light gray but I really tried to see the top of the tail for the "antenna" that faces towards the front of the plane but didn't see one.
You going to the Autos & Aero Show this Saturday? RickH says the F4 is scheduled to fly in the PM.

NASA has a DC-8 that they still fly (normally out of Dryden, but it's been into Ellington on occasion) and the USAF is flying several JKC-135s and NKC-135s that are testbeds, so it could also be one of those.

Thanks, I wish I had taken a photo because it's bugging me now. In retrospect it may have had the
slimmer engine nacelles unlike the ones on the E-6. I originally thought it was one of the "Vomit Comets",
but they don't do that anymore...tho there was no "NASA blue"...it was a single color and nmf. Guess I'll grab
the camera next time!!!

No, I thought I might sample the other end of the techno spectrum and go see/hear the Fokker Dr.I fly at Kingsbury.
I haven't had my castor oil fix in quite some time. However, it looks like I'll be doing neither and will be up to my
elbows in a Volvo whistler with broken exhaust manifold studs...Drat and Yecchhh!!

Well, today I heard a Mig 21 but didn't make it outside in time to actually see it. And then while golfing I saw what I think was a SNJ or T-6. Of course I didn't have my camera with me so no shots.

They took over one of the big hangars at Plant 42 & it's based there now

Thanks for the update on the Super 8.
As for the aicraft, white and NMF sounds like the paint scheme that was on the now retired C-135C "Speckled Trout" which had TF-33 (i.e. 707-300) engines on it. I'm pretty sure it's been retired, but there may be other aircraft in that scheme.
Here's a pic -

OK, guys, calm down,... It's an E-6, don't know if it's an "A" or "B".
Today, we had a Hornet gas and go today, numerous T-38s, USAF and NASA. A couple of CAP birds. 3 Navy Seahawks going back to New Orleans.
There may be some other stuff that came in later but we were busy.
The F-4 won't be phlying tomorrow, afterall. We developed a fuel leak in one of the rear tanks, think it's a gasket on one of the tank crossovers. We decided to tear it down and fix it now. Hopefully it will be just a few days work. We'll see....
In the meantime we are going to fly the T-33 on a checkflight tomorrow.
The Huey will be doing experience flights all day. The other stuff will all be static.
