Across the field from me at Stinson Field is the Texas Air Museum. I don't know that anyone will be at Cannon today and don't know if Rod Lewis' hangar would be accessible.

You could go the the hangar around the secret owners bunker at Boerne Stage. We have 3-4 warbirdy things in there and there are 2-3 more on the field itself but in private hangars. But that might end up really out of your way.

Hope you have fun in SAT.

Not sure if it's open to the public but Lackland Air Force base has quite a large aircraft display near the main gate.

If you are interested in wood, wire and fabric, WW1ish craft, there is the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome out east of town, about 40 miles east just off I-10 past Seguin.

Aaaaand - they're having a fly-in this weekend. I'd be trying to go if the L-5 wasn't down for annual and the Cub temporarily grounded for maintenance.

I can't seem to get to the Aerodrome's web site? Has it changed or is it out of order? http://www.pioneerflightmuseum.com (this is what is listed at EAA site) I've tried .org as well to no success! Anybody here in the know? :?

Ok, I just got off of the phone with Mr. Freeman up there and apparently they were just made aware of the website issue. Also, because of some issues with the county and the flu scare, they are re-scheduling for June 20th.

You can still come down to Cannon Field if you want on Saturday.
