A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

DOC's

i had to laugh!

Well, it must be true then. I even saw a press release about a year ago, saying that "Doc will fly before FIFI does." I've actually heard a CAF guy or two say the same thing. But now that I'm out of the way, perhaps the B-29 Squadron will prove the naysayers wrong. :?

Sounds almost gleeful. Here and I thought we all wanted to see warbirds fly, regardless of the sponsoring organizations. The CAF *does* have a significant advantage over USAM in PR, manpower, and funding.

Given the fact that last year's USAM fundraiser airshow got rained out and barely broke even, and this year's has been cancelled thanks to the airport manager's "requirements," times are a little tight. The last I heard, though, they had fabricated the new spar cap and were preparing to install it. That might be tough, since Boeing put them outside again.

I don't know anything about a Yahoo group for Doc. Certainly posting someone else's video as your own is a no-no. But it's possible that the poster may have been confused about the origin of the video. Can you provide a link?
