Kevin,

We are looking for a C-97 oil transfer pump for FIFI. Do you still have the oil transfer system? Or, if anyone has an idea of a pump we can use. Bottom line we need a low pressure, high volumn, 24VDC pump. I was told the C-118 also had an oil transfer system.

The Connie also had an oil transfer system.

We still have the transfer system. We plan on using it....often!

I will seee what I can dig up.

What about a feather pump?

Thats what we have now but the duty cycle is only 30 seconds. We use ours to suck a barrel of oil dry and then transfer to the engines. It can take a while.

Do you guys still have any of the oil transfer pumps that were in the C-97 that Gary has the cockpit of?

To my knowledge, there is nothing there. I've looked through my stuff too and haven't found anything for them. I think the one that they put in FIFI when they made the oil transfer system several years ago was indeed the oil transfer pump from the airplane that I have the pieces of. That pump was replaced with a feathering pump (I think), which didn't last very long.

Would a pre-oil pump like what is going on Ol'927 work for the transfer system since it's modified for longer cycles?

Not enough volume, I'm afraid.

Remember the C-97 at Carswell we took the parts from as it was being disassembled a few years back. Any idea where it went? Maybe it had a transfer pump.

That might be the one that is at the Grand Canyon branch of Planes of Fame. There is the wing section and 4 engines there. I saw this last summer.

I would like some good idea's for a prelube pump setup. And some good idea's for the application port, other than the filter drain. Not accessable.

That 97 didn't have the pump, it was MIA. The Minn. ANG museum has a pump in their 97 I can have for trade of some 97 parts I have.

How are things going on the '97?

I would think by now the engine run up's would have been done.
Any news?
Hey if you need some volunteers, bring that strat back home to seattle.
