Today in Australia is Anzac Day our main day to commenerate the dead and living of all our wars and peace keeeping operations.
In various towns around Australia warbirds are hoping to take to skies to do flypasts.
Nothing as big as in US or UK but still people recognise this day is when we realise the full impact of wars and the horror it generates.
My only family has lost 3 to WW1 - 1 never found , WW2 produced one wretched traumatised relative, so i know the impact of war very closely.
Warbirds to some are too touchy a subject while other see them as a direct link to their bygone days when they where youth.
To many later generations, warbirds are a cultural item which makes them curious and yet never fully understood by some.
Hopefully Anzac Day as some have said wont require any more blood been etched into granite in the future but that is a sad wish that wont ever come true.
