This show looks like it may be one of the best places in the east or midwest to see jet warbirds in flight this year.

Dean Cutshall's beautiful and very rare F-100F Super Sabre is slated for flybys on Saturday, June 6. Paul Keppeler's T-33 is also scheduled for the show and hopefully the Warbird Heritage Foundation's F-86F and L-39 may be there also, and possibly other jets.

The flying prop warbird lineup is looking very impressive also. I hope to make it out to Indiana for this show.

I'm planning on being there.

I'm excited about seeing a C-1 Trader again. Haven't seen one of those in a few years. The American Icon Tour, the Yak-9, and Sea Fury are also great additions to the lineup. This is going to be a great show!

Matt, I'm excited about seeing the C-1 Trader, also. I really enjoyed seeing the Old Dominion Squadron's US-2B Tracker in flight at the Winston-Salem, NC show in Sept. 2005 and at Thunder Over Michigan in Aug. 2006.

I should be there again with Mike Wiskus' team. (I know, he's not flying a warbird.)

This will be my first year at Indy. Anyone have any advice on where to be during the show? How close can you get to the aircraft when they start up?

Looks like you're looking into the sun for most of the show as well, which is not that big of a deal for me because I don't have a big shiny camera for aerial photos. Is there a good spot to get taxi photos with the sun at your back? Just curious about the set up and I want to know whether it will be better just to leave the camera at home and just enjoy the show.

Can't wait to see the F-100 again, it's a real treat. Looks like a great warbird lineup!

At Indy they close off the ramp, so you're not right beside the planes on start up. Ususally they taxi out the west end of the west ramp (warbirds) as the east ramp is static. Anywhere along the west ramp throat is good for pics and up close.
If you are in town on Friday 6/5, that is preview/media day. Cheaper price for admittance and everything flys. Half the crowd of Sat. and Sunday.
All you WIXers stop by the Harpoon and introduce yourselves!

All well and good for Friday, but keep in mind that if you want to see Dean Cutshall's beautiful and very rare F-100F Super Sabre, you will have to be there for the opening ceremonies on Saturday, June 6 - this is the ONLY time over the 3 days that it will make an appearance.

Thanks for the info. I might try getting there early enough to attend on Friday as well. I can only go to the actual show on Saturday, so maybe that will be a better way to go.

I'll be there early Friday afternoon and Saturday. The Friday admission (only $5) is quite the deal. Even if I have only an hour or two to spend there after the drive Friday, it will still be worth it. Also will be stopping at Grissom to see the displays there on the way down Friday.
