I am planning to buy a L-29 next year so I am doing some research right now on many different things. I live in Vancouver,BC, Canada and I have tried to get as much information from Transport Canada regarding qualifications and minimums for me to be able to do transition to a jet fighter with my licence, but they got confused when i asked them If i can import a jet trainer such as L-29 from US.
Does anyone knows anything about this issue or maybe had a similar case? I know there has to be certified aeroplane maintenance shop that has approved person who can undertake the maintenance,but again they were unsure if such thing even exists in Canada.
If such maintenece facility doesn't exist in Canada, can i use the facility in US and just fly down when necessary or do you think this might be too much hassle?
I know Canada and US have a free trade agreement meaning you don't pay any custom fees upon purchase?
If I purchase a L-29 in US and I am not an US citizen, but I would like to fly it in Canada registered under US registration would that be at all possible?
I would appreciate any answer and I am thanking kindly for any information.
