Jackie Cochran's RCAF F-86 in Canada?

Mon Apr 20, 2009 11:54 pm

I heard a rumor of an F-86 still extant in Canada that had been flown by Jackie Cochran in which she set some records. Anyone have any info as to its whereabouts?

...on May 18, 1953, at Rogers Dry Lake, California, Cochran flew a Canadair F-86 Sabre jet borrowed from the Royal Canadian Air Force at an average speed of 652.337 mph, becoming the first woman to break the sound barrier.

Brandon,

It's late, but as far as I can tell this is your girl: Sabre CL-13B-3, #19200

A quick search turned up these pics:

I have this one of Jackie Cochrane and Chuck Yeager with the Sabre 3. It was Yeager who recomended the Canadaire Sabre 3 for the record setting run.
