Intro

I tried to reply to the existing "Introductions" thread, but was told only moderators could reply to it...

Anyway, my name is Jim, from western New York. I've been an aviation buff since who-knows-when, as my dad (may his soul RIP) was an avid aviator and aircraft owner. He was former Air Corps, and was involved with the first operational P-80 fighter group. Dad also worked at Curtiss building P-40s before he was old enough for the service, so that aircraft has always been one of my favorites.

Dad and I always went to the local airshows, and we made several road trips to the Dayton museum. Our last one was to Hammondsport. Dad passed away just before Christmas last year, and is sorely missed.

I found this forum through another, with reference to a thread here regarding an F-82 and the ongoing dispute over its ownership. This board looks to be a good find so far, and it looks like I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Great to be here.
