Airbus 380 is coming to AirVenture!

Confirmed this morning, the Airbus 380 is coming to AirVenture. Guess we'll have to expand AeroShell Square along with the other site improvements that are going on...

If it's so boring, why bother replying? If it's not your thing, don't read it.

Because I'm a jerk and don't care for Airbus products. I've also lost interest in the former "fly-in" at Oshkosh, now the trade show known as "AirVenture." But these are my problems. Please have a good time and fly safe!

I second bdk:

Buy American...

Well I work for the competition, but I'd still love to see Airbus fly non stop right here to Paine field and park an A380 just south of the 747 docks. Sorry but I'm twisted like that. Dont get me wrong I love my company and I am not a fan of scarebus (having ridden on my share) but it would make a great photo!

We have a Boeing factory in town (Melbourne, Aus). Among other stuff they build Airbus parts.

Personally I'd rather buy the best and the best price, and expect my competitive free trade domestic marketplace to produce the best for the local market. But then I still hope the washing-up fairy is goona turn up one day, too.

Not a big surprise it's at Oshkosh - and it should be.

As to the endless Boeing vs Airbus bull, I can't, frankly, tell the difference between most airliners I fly in any meaningful qualitative manner.

If the difference is so important to everyone, then why don't they put the name over the entry door so you see what it is you are flying when you board?

Don't they do that, on the emergency procedures thingy that they put on the back of the seats?

Err, I was talking about positive marketing, rather than the 'thank you for crashing in...'

Car makers also put their name on the handbook, but the car's badges and logos aren't supplanted by the equally ignored paperwork. ;)

Maybe they should put a big decal on the side like the... Oh never mind! That's already been worn out in a few other threads.

Sorry, I completely missed the inference to positive marketing.....

To being able to responsibly operate any piece of machinery, at a minimum I read the instructions and note the operational limitations. I guess it comes from having had the responsibility of actually flying an airplane a few times in my life.

Bad habits, I guess.

Glad to hear you smoke a pipe and wear a pullover... ;) (Sensible, grounded, responsible...)

Brand preference purchasing isn't driven by the manual.

Just seems an obvious piece of brand id that all manufacturers seem to neglect. I guess all it'll take is one to cotton-on. Maybe I should patent the idea...

You could at least try to smoke a pipe. No Pullover for you, that would be a stretch. : )

Why certainly! In letters about 4 feet high.

As I recall, the Douglas jets (DC-9, MD-80, etc.) had a small metal plaque near the entrance door on the bulkhead common to the cockpit.
