need a bird expert here.... it's the darndest thing....... a robin bird has been banging into my basement window for 5 solid days now!!! i'm not b.s.ing!! of course my bedroom is right over the window, & he keeps hitting that window, hence why i'm up so early this morning on my day off. i've put aromatic food spices out their, wd 40 on the window sill, put a lawn ornament out their like a scare crow to no avail. i've tried shooting him with a bb gun, but he always scurries around the corner or flies off to only return before i even shoot. is this bird sick?? a mental case robin!! i have no clue what could be attracting him their for 5 solid days. any suggestions??

Can you cover the window, with something non-reflective and opaque? He's either attacking his reflection (territorial) or trying to fly through the glass (less likely).
I'm no expert, good luck.

arrrr ya swabby dogs, walk the plank!!!!!! the pirates have gotten cocky & brazen!! a promotion, bonus, & medal to the usn seals. i feel nato should collectively fund & arm all international ships within the the organization. nato is an international team..... period!! some countries have bucked up, while others have not, but even the french kicked in!! go back to ww 2.... remember the armed merchant ship?? 20mm cannons etc. ( a warbird twist..... remember the hurricane armed merchant ships?? catapulted, fought, ditched.) these people are criminals, they held up a ship with relief food & gear for countless suffering people. whats of the other international hostages?? some 200 or so?? the media mentions nothing of these victims.

A female cardinal did the same thing on one of our dining room windows. She builds her nest in the hedge near that window and I suppose she is attacking the reflection.
As for those merchant marine organizers.....I just heard that they were acting as a non-official Sudanese Coast Guard.

I forgot we can't edit on this part of the site, hence the nationality correction as a quote rather than an edited post. Sorry.

Hi Tom:
They're not criminals. I think they are rogue war-fighters. If they are criminal they are subject to a fair trial and civilian law. If they are enemy combatants, they can be shot on site.

Pirates should be hung, unless shot. Nothing More.

Tom don't feel bad I have a woodpecker that stops at my house every morning around 10am and pecks on the vents on my roof! This has been going on for a month now. Its as if he is saying get up! Then he goes to the neighbors and does the same thing. I don't mind, in fact its funny!

ouch that must hurt to get your vents pecked on!!! my buddy brought over a high velocity 1 pump pellet gun, gonna take a few pops, then glue traps. btw..... it's been 5 days now since the peckerhead robin arrived.

i'll bring in the navy sniper team!!

We've got the same problems here! The woodpeckers peck on metal. It's illegal to kill them. Just like the Woody Woodpecker cartoons, where the woodpecker always wins, and laughs!
