A bit off topic but...
My uncle, Wendell Jones, passed away today.
He was a signalman on the USS Dionysus (AR-21) in the Pacific.
Here he is on the left with my mom and their older brother (the B-24 pilot)

Thanks all.
He always told me that he didn't feel like he did much in the war. They got to Eniwetok in the summer of 45. He said they stayed busy with work from the Okinawa battle and the Philippine campaign.
After the surrender they sailed in to Tokyo Harbor and stayed for a month or so.
He and married a young lady from California after the war and went to Pepperdine. He lived in Costa Mesa for the duration.
One of my childhood heroes.
