Rare Golden Hawks Video & New website

Sun Apr 12, 2009 7:30 pm

Some here will know that I am the website designer for my friend Jerry Billing. I first took this on back in 2005 as I felt Jer has quite a colourful career in aviation. WWII Veteran, Flew #2 spot for the Blue Devils, aerobatic trainer for the Golden Hawks and ofcourse a Spitfire display pilot.

I have been wanting to get his site redone to a better format and add more content, so finally got around to getting at it just in time for his 88th birthday in the next few weeks.

If you have time take a look and let me know what you think good or bad.

Also while collecting up more goodies for the site, I got some rare footage of the Golden Hawks from 1963. Jerry was their and followed then during a practice in a T33, piloting it from the back with a camera man in the front. Jerry said it was fun until he got right behind the formation and got into their slipstream which would flick them out ( he didnt think the camera man liked that part  ) The video is old, but i fixed it up alittle.

I also added some images of the Golden Hawks here:

I have lots more to add in the coming weeks, Jerry has over 50 years of aviation images, video etc to go through.

Cheers Dave C
