Somewhere in that thread somebody mentioned 80 hp Hirth engines. I have an A&P buddy here in town who has always wanted to build a scaled down Lancaster with 4 Rotax engines. I'll have to show him this "little" project!

What are the total horsepower maximums for the Sport Flyer Class? 150?Seems as long as you don't bust the horsepower or top speed limits, you could build a teeny teeny B-36 if you wanted to-do I hear wheels turning?

1/4 scale would give you a 36" diameter fuselage. 57-foot wingspan, 40 feet long. Not sure you could go much smaller and still be able to sit in it.
It WOULD be cool, though!

Hard not to be impressed by all the work that has gone into that. What about a quarter scale B-36? Wouldn't that be about the size of a real B-17?

About half the size. Real '36 is 230' wingspan. 1/4 scale would give you a 36" diameter fuselage. 57-foot wingspan, 40 feet long.

Just awsome. Ive got a 16ft wingspan Lancaster RC model here. Its flying days are past but apharently they had to get permision to fly it due to its size.
