Hmmm... Dark green ball turret parts? Probably not from Briggs & Stratton or Sperry so maybe an Emerson ball turret? Interesting stuff Taigh, thanks for posting the link.

Aren't those guns beautiful looking. One looks like it is still in the cheek mount and one has remnants of the waist mount. The barrels are perfectly straight. It must have been a gentle landing as the barrels usually try to bend around corners on impact. I bet that B-17 was real straight before it went through the glacier.

Speaking of the glacier; try saying Eyjafjallajokull three times fast. Or in my case just try to say it once!

If you are in touch with the gentleman...
What he is calling a bomb hoist mechanism? is part of the rudder trim tab.

His pile of rubble shot towards the end (with all the corrugated sheet metal) is a wing with parts of turbo casing and nacelle peeking out.

What a number of us B17 guys wouldn't give to have a month or two to sift through that stuff.

I am not in contact with the guy. I agree with you he has a few errors on his parts descriptions. You could post your corrections on G503 and I am sure he would appreciate it.

It sure is a cool wreck that would be awesome to explore. Lets go!
