There's a Phantom in Bastrop, Tx. in front of the Natl Guard bldg.
Several years ago I passed a Sabre Dog on a pylon in a small town in eastern Ok., Poteau I think but I may be off.
In the mid sixties there was a Cougar or Panther on short posts in a playground near the marina in downtown Corpus Christi, Tx. We played on it when vacationing with family. No engine and nothing but a bare seat in the cockpit.
Ill try to get over to Bastrop and shoot the F4.

The F-8 that P.C.A.M. has was in a park in San Francisco until we heard it was going to be scrapped. I had played in this as a kid, when we dug the sand away, it was still on it's gear, We spent many hours restoring it. Found out it was in combat in nam, and had some migs to it's credit.

Yea, too bad inside didn't get destroyed over the years sitting there. We did acquire a forward fuselage cockpit of a F-8 so we can show how it SHOULD look inside. another cool thing is when we were working on it, we found that it still has the refueling probe in the side of it, so during our airshow we open it up for the fans.

Hate to bump, but is this the bird you were looking for, OP? No serial numbers but it's better than nothing, right?

Canso, the Bastrop F-4 is in front of the VFW just across from the entrance to Bastrop State Park.
