Not really wix but.............
Can someone give me the details of a landing accident in the Pacific Theatre Of Operations.
As I recall a landing U.S. Navy aircraft crashed and in the process destroyed a large amount of parked aircraft.
I would be interested to learn more about this incident.
Title Mod edited - Please ensure no risk of misunderstanding the post as being a CURRENT accident. JDK.

Didn't a P-38 or something crash into a carrier deck while doing a low pass? Is this what you are referring to? I think this was discussed here recently...

It was a PB4Y-1 taking off from Eniwetok that caused the accident.

Thanks Second Air Force, that is what I was looking for.
Sorry Jerry, I thought by writing "Pacific Theatre Of Operations" it would be obvious it was WW2, apparently not.

Any chance of a "cut & paste" of the article? Not allowed to view it as I am not a member.

The article is too large to cut and paste, (1.5M). I'm happy to email anyone who wants it just send me a message

Last time I checked, U.S. Armed Forces have been continuously operating in the entire Pacific for well over 100 years.
