I know alot of you build models, here's a place for you to discuss model related items and to post pictures of your projects.

It's the older Monogram kit, 'The Yankee Guerilla". Don't know if they still make that kit in those colours as I've been out of the game for a while (restoring an old truck...big model kit!). Haven't really given the colour scheme much thought but it'll be olive drab and European.
Also have the Monogram B-24D to do in "Flak Alley" colours (assuming I can find the Superscale decals whenever I get to it), the B-29 to do in Korean colours (black undersides) and the hard nose B-25 to do in an olive drab Air Apache scheme.
Would love to do some Aussie stuff as well but I first have to find the time to get back into it and "cut my teeth" again!
Just keep getting insporation from you guys!
Cheers
Andy

The B-26 kit that I used was the Monogram "Flak Bait" kit. I have the same kit thats suspended from the ceiling painted as FB. It's really something else to see how much the aftermarket stuff has progressed. (decals, metal landing gear, nav lights...etc) Keep us posted on your 26 & 25!!!

Very nice work Trae. The 26 sure tugs at my "Carolyn" strings. I haven't
visited the Modelers Gallery lately. I'm finally moving toward completion of my 1/32 F4F-4. Thanks for the encouragement....Tom

Greetings...Im with the CAF Dixie Wing and have spent a few hours in the back seat from time to time. Pls let me know if you need any photos to help with finishing your a/c.
There are a few changes as of late (rudder colors, CAF emblems) but overall your model looks very close to our bird.
Feel free to hit our website
www.dixiewing.org and contact our Wing Leader or other folks in the Contact Us page for more details.
Again, nice model!

Thanks Rauhbatz!
Actually I built Red Nose back in '02 for the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame located inside of LSFM. It was in the Lloyd Nolan exhibit when he was inducted. Once the exhibit was moved to a smaller location inside the TAHF the P-51 came back with me. I used several old CAF books to try and get it as close as possible to the real deal!
As for the B-26 for Mr. george Lane's exhibit that I built...it was a complete write off in the Hurricane Ike disaster. Searching through the ruble and debris in the TAHF, I found the remaing pieces of my beloved B-26!

What's the status on those exhibits? Are they trying to rebuild them? What is currently lacking?
If you want, maybe we could start a separate thread on this.

What a great story...your model looks like its almost ready to fly.
BTW, did you hollow out the rear seat area in your model (no center tank)? We put quite a few people in there these days for rides.
Hopefully you can make it to Atlanta one day or see it at an upcoming event. Either way your bird looks spot on!

If I remember correctly I did put the radios in the back. I grew up watching Ol' Rednose down in Harlingen in the early 70's. She's always been my favorite. I really enjoy the challenge of a customized model.
Here is another one I built for the TAHF. (F-105 for a Vietnam Vet)
