Hard to say on the value. I've personally got three of them, zero time, in cans, here at Austin Acres, so I've been trying to find the value on something like this as well. Sun Air Parts (and one other place that I can't recall the name of right now) sells the exact engines I have for $14,500.00, so that's a "rough" estimate of what they may bring. However, the engine on E-bay has no can, and even though most cans are no longer pressurized with nitrogen, they're still protected from the elements. So that decreases the value of the E-bay engine, in my opinion.

The biggest thing to consider with these things is they're VERY heavy. They're also quite big, so you can't just throw it on a 16' car trailer and head down the highway. The cost of transportation has the potential of being quite expensive, depending on where you live.

So with that being said, my GUESS on what the E-bay engine will bring is merely that...a guess......but if it brought more than 5 or 6 thousand dollars, I'd be surprised.

Actually, I may have ended up with two Rolls Royce Viper 522 turbojet engines yesterday. We have a "hand shake deal," but I won't know for sure until they're sitting here at Austin Acres with the rest of my "junque." Believe it or not, I'm thinking about making a little jet dragster, OR making a Bonneville Salt Flats racer out of a drop tank I have here (but not with the jet engine..........Hmmmmmmm). ;-)

That wouldn't happen to be a World War II 75 gallon tank would it? I'm looking for somebody with one (or better 2) we can acquire or at least borrow one to copy for our P-51.

No, I'm sorry, but my drop tank is boring. It's a 200 gallon tank from an Apache or Blackhawk helicopter.

On the KC-97 we flight planned long range cruise flights at 500 GPH for 4 engines or 125 GPH each. If we were grinding around qualifying B-47 pilots or our Boom Operators we were usually at METO power and the burn went up accordingly.

Gary what dash numbers are yours, and accessories? And what are you going to do with them? The ebay is the older High tension engine. That engine with the stand probably weighs 4,700 ish lbs. I don't think Sun air has any, unless they got more. Price at auction it all depends on who and how rich the folks are and how bad they want it. And it can really get bad if there are 2 wealthy ones fighting for it.
Its already over priced.

I have two -20WD engines and one -4W. No accessories other than what they come with from the overhaul shop (such as mags, carb., etc.).
I'm going to sell them.
I know it's all about "supply and demand," but it seems a shame to me that an engine like the 4360 is considered "already overpriced" at under $5,000.00, when you can't touch an overhauled 4 cylinder Lycoming for less than $15,000.00 or so. :roll:
