I cannot tell you the engine type. But the COAN (Comando de la Aviacion Naval) operated a large number of T-28s and Fennecs.

"The Argentinean Naval Aviation acquired 65 examples of the Fennec, surplus to the needs of the Armee de l'Air, with the goal of equipping the Naval Aviation School and the 2nd Aeronaval Squadron for General Purposes, concentrating mainly on advanced training, and the same aircraft would later equip the 1a Aeronaval Attack Squadron. Later on, a group of Fennecs were "navalized," this meant a modification developed in country, including an arresting hook in order to operate from the aircraft carrier ARA 25 de Mayo; the aircraft were designated as T-28P, and were based at BAN Comandante Espora.

Three were donated to the Uruguayan Navy, and upon retirement from service, I believe that one example will go back (or already did) to the Argentinean Navy Museum.
