Thank you, Gary.

I will be driving through MO probably Tuesday or Wednesday, and weather permitting, I will go again to Vichy and take photos.

Saludos,

Tulio

Tulio, where was that collection of O-2's located, and what year? Does anyone have a clue who the owner is?

The O2`s are all owned by JW Duff, and kept in Greeley, CO. beside Duff`s hangar.
Great guy, but not too easy to deal with, and the aircraft are not going to be sold as bargains!

Here is Duff's http://www.jwduffaircraft.com/
The O-2 is listed for $30K, under the classifieds.

Bill Duff! Ya gotta love the guy! When I bought the Poon from him two years ago, his heart all of a sudden started acting up when I was trying to negotiate a fair price, ....was getting his family and attorneys together...better hurry up and buy the plane before it's too late.....I give him the cash, and he fully recovers!
Same thing happened later on when negotiating on a couple of 2800's

Every salesman has their gimmick I suppose! :D It's amazing this day and age to see 7+ otherwise airworthy warbirds still sitting in a row like that. :shock:

Any chance one of our intrepid warbird chasers has the serial #'s for those birds? Any idea where they came from (foreign surplus, Davis Monthan, etc)??

Rob, I am afraid that there were no good serial numbers visible when I took the photos.

Going through other images, I came up with these partial numbers, that apart from the "68-10??" are markings on the airplanes, as follows:

* 310 (L) side of front engine cowling;

* 897 HV116

* 68-10??

* 28749 HV126 N8?6(?)1 or L

Of the seven O-2s, only the four above had any numbers visible other than inspection marking dates. The serial number area, as well as any squadron or unit markings, had been covered in gray or dark green paint.

IIRC, they all came from AMARC (Or, before the purists hit, whatever the name of Davis Monthan is nowadays).

Saludos,

Tulio

Rob,
Give Bill a call....I can't remember his helpers name, but he might be able to help on the serial nos. on the Cessnas...He usually keeps a good account of the airframes he has...303-399-6010...That his cell...call during busness hours, mountain time...If he asks where you got his number, tell him you found it in a bathroom stall in San Francisco...

Take more good pics of those DC-3's in MO!! I would also be interested in that one in TX. My uncle is looking for a DC-3 to fix up.
