I think in my life I've witnessed more a/c accidents than car accidents.
I guess to much time spent around airplanes/airports.

I know, it's almost like a "cry for help".

That's the one I remember. At the time it was the nicest C-47 I had ever seen. I guess if you have to tear one up, it's good to be at Basler Aviation's home field.

You know why I like the YAM's planes? They are actual polished metal, rather than painted silver.
Makes all the difference.
I've been to Oshkosh maybe 20 times, and have never seen an incident.

I remember when that happened, a "certain magazine" reported that the plane was so badly damaged it would likely be scrapped.

I got a ride on her three or four years ago..if you get a chance to taken one of Yankee's C-47 "Day Trips," do it! It's a fantastic experience, and a real bargain. I think it cost me less than 200 bucks, including a Yankee membership.

I stand corrected! After all of these years I never knew the mains were damaged. From where we were sitting we thought the slope between the taxi ways just made it look like it was sitting lower. Thanks for posting those.

It looks like the engines were stopped prior to impact....nice job by the pilots
