I'm sure glad Terry is ok but it breaks my heart to see the plane! I took my first airplane ride in this plane back when Howard Pardue owned it.

Crud! That was the plane Howard owned? I didn't know that. Then it is the one that he got from John Stokes, I presume. When John got it the ball turret was skined over and the plane was painted yellow, having been acquired from a Canadian fire fighting company. My friend Ray Harper got his type in it and flew it after John had it restored. I'll have to let Ray know!

I hope he makes a quick recovery as well. I was looking at the pics, and seems like the Engine, Wings, and Empenage are all still repairable. Perhaps they can go into another project? The ball turret's frame still looks like it's in decent shape.

Lynn,

The pictures were taken in 84 and 85 best I can remember. The inflight picture was given to me by Howard was used in the airshow program for the Breckenridge show a couple of times.

Folks
Terry's wife, Leslie, has sent out an e-mail.
Obviously there is still some concern for Terry.
From the e-mail-

Thank you for all your kind words and prayers. Terry has a long road ahead but he sure has so many wonderful friends pulling for him. (we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of calls and emails wishing him well!)

He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 30% of his body. (the worst being on his left side - his arm and under his left arm). But the area of concern at the moment are his lungs. He did ingest fumes from the fire and we will know more in the next 48 hours.

Terry is heavily sedated (unfortunately not on Johnny Walker Black) but manages to shake his head yes and no to the nurses. (The care he is receiving at Crozer medical is unbelievable! ) Please do not visit or call the hospital. I promise to send updates if you'd like. The scary part right now is infection and even I am refraining from visits.

Lets keep him in our prayers.
Rich

Another sobering reminder of the importance of wearing fire-resistant gear.

I don't know for sure in this flight but he typically did wear a nomex flight suit.
