Some fun flights yesterday. Chris Prevost took up one of his crewmen Dave Mace for a ride, followed by Larry Rengstorf. Also out, was Don Carter with his Curtiss Wright 19R giving rides, and Dan Vance arrived from Santa Rosa in his Mustang to join in the fun.

This one was a long reach with the lens, so not real clear, but cool looking anyways.

The P-40 is incredible, nice job!
Forgive my rookieness, but I can't see any description in this thread on what plane is in this picture.

Nice pass today Will, if I could have got out to the run way quicker, might have got a decent shot, instead of an exit. Sorry about the quality, you were a blip at this point. :)

What is the color of the Mustang? Brown I know but of what origin? I fell in love with a T-6 I found a year or more ago on the "interweb" that was painted the same color scheme including the checker nose. It was for sale but I hadn't won the lottery yet. (no still not yet  )

I recall it was owned by a Gent in Florida. Anybody know of it?

Thanks,

"Soon to be Pilot" (if I don't blow my check ride)

Not sure but here's another view, seems to have some green to the color. This picture was taken from Chris Prevost's SNJ-4.

Ray Melikian, former 49th FG pilot who flew Chris' P-40 during 1944, visited Schellville today along with his family. He was re-united with his old mount (which Chris had suitably marked up for the occasion - a nice touch) and went flying in the back of the P-40.

Looking very sprightly for his age, Ray obviously enjoyed the experience, and took the controls for part of the flight.
