Saw on Courtesy that the fighter isn't listed anymore. Did someone buy it? Or did he begin to have second thoughts?

Yes, not a Bf-109, but the only one "nearly" that type I have actually seen flying with my own eyes.
Had a chance to speak with him for a very short time a few years back at OSH and Mr. K certainly seemed an interesting fella.
Wasn't there an article about the restoration in the AH Journal a few years back?

And me (only it was the much-lamented OFMC Buchon with the late Mark Hanna at the controls).

I'd rather have a Buchon than nothing at all!

Had the chance to see Messerschmitt Bf-109G-2 "Black 6" at Wroughton in 1992, and thats something that will stay with me, sends a chill down your spine to hear that starter being wound up.

Agreed! The only 109 derivative I've ever seen (and heard) fly is the Russell Group Bf-109E at Thunder Over Michigan in '05. What an awsome sight..especially when being chased by a matching pair of P-47s!

We did a photo shoot with Harolds Buchon a few years ago for Air Classics. Skip Holm was making runs at us in the B-17...I gotta tell yah it was very intimidating...he was all over us. Dan Martin was in Ridge Runner and formed up on us as well for the shoot...it was a day to remember...mostly because my camera was in our crew van.

Bit of a shame there isn't more interest in the Hispano here in the US. Wasn't the CAF Hispano sold overseas as well?

Would be nice to see someone in the US take more of an interest in the Hispano, especially with all the unrestored examples out there. Sure would be cool to see another 109 or Hispano flying with the Russell Group Bf109 someday.

It is something totally awesome. Went to Chino for lunch on Friday, 29 October, 1999 and got to see Price flying his real 109. No frickin camera..and that's the only time got to see it fly. I remember the date so well, because I got delayed by a doctor visit and the choice was Fontana to watch Cart (and Greg Moore's last practice) or Chino.
