Very cool! Or very Wierd!

I grew up in Beaverton. And later in life, I have owned property and lived very near Battleground Washington.

I totally want to see the "Miss Beaverton" nose art, heeeee, and hopefuly it's racked up real nice :D

Sheeeeiit, when I grow up and get the T-28, I guess that can be the right side nose art.

Heck, keep the name "City of Salem," and add some hot witch nose art (I know, wrong Salem.) 8)

And if folks complain, tell them there's historical precedent..

A minor point in response to the peace protester: As far as I understand, fighters are generally defensive whereas bombers are offensive. Thus, the fighter flying patrols is protecting us - helping to ensure peace in Salem.

Regards,

Art S.

PS. If we push the peace analogy further, we can apply it to apply it to other 'militaristic' organizations tasked with keeping the peace - we should not allow police to carry guns, or get rid of the police department all together...

I too fully support your proposal, neaked gals are so much better than city names ! 8) Gives character to metal !!!

Don't think I ever heard anyone call an F-15 "gentle" before.

We always have to be careful of what we say or do, or we will no doubt offend the 2 or 3 people in the world that are offended by everything and have a big mouth about thier opinions as an "activist". It adds more credibility to your opinion especially when you make up some organizational name for your opinion and nonprofit incorporate it for tax write-off purposes.

My question is, Peter Bergel can dish out public criticism, but can he take it?

+1 for naked ladies.

This "activist" should be asked if he can speak German, Japanese or Russian. When he says "no" then ask him why he thinks that could be...

The PC crowd was a bit agitated with the naming of "The City of Corpus Christi" attack sub as well.....but the name stuck anyways!

What would they think about the Colt 45 Peacemaker!

Actually, I was growing up in Corpus at that time. Originally, the Navy wanted to call the sub the USS Corpus Christi. The local Bishop pointed out that it would be akin to calling it the USS "Body of Christ" and that is what started the hubub. The Navy decided to put the "City of" so as to name it after the city, not the city's namesake.
