I highly recommend visiting this museum. It has a fantastic array of aircraft from all nations and even untouched, unrestored WWI aircraft in their original finish. Don't see that very often! I remember that there are a few great pubs in the area as well to help wash down the dust that gathers in your mouth from gaping at airplanes. The only draw back that I remember is that everything seems cramped, very little room. Otherwise, a definite must see!

A must-see collection.

Check their open before you go, there have been issues over having to close galleries for refurbishment (for which they don't have enough money). A forum search will throw up some pics.

Theirs may be the best collection of WWI-era aircraft - including a Zeppelin control car - in the world.

And behind this museum is a display of seemingly every artillery piece that the war produced!

Just in case, peoples who plan to visit the brussels museum don't hesitate to contact me. I'm near Brussels and will happy to provide any information or help. (and why not perhaps visit the museum together ?)

The museum currently restore differents planes. Some of them can see in the museum. Others are restored in outside facility (A B-25 and a Lysander)

Regards

When I read about such a fantastic museum such as this, I always wonder how these aircraft, particularly WW1, survived WW2. These old aircraft somehow escaped bombing, artillery, invading occupiers, etc. Must be some amazing and fateful stories about these pre WW2 treasures.
Thx,
VL

I think there is a set of belly-mounted machine guns from a Me.110, but no intact aircraft 110 at the Brussels museum.
