Don't know if this has already been posted but my contacts have informed me that D.U. Howard made his final flight on Thursday last. I had the honour of talking with him on the phone years ago and was impressed with his down-to-earth attitude. Tailwinds Dee.

Sad to hear he's gone. He is truly one of the singular people that brought us the modern jet aircraft as we know it today. Without his mods to various business aircraft, I doubt we'd see some of the advanced technology we have today. The legacy of the Speed Shop and its developments will live on for many years into the future.

Sorry to hear that news. We were talking about him and his work a few days ago. I grew up a short nine iron from his house and was always intregued with his auto collection. When I win the lottery I would love to have a Howard 500 for my collection as my get around airplane.

Check this 500 out. This is the big daddy of all 500s.
It used to be based up here at Troutdale in Bruce Stephensen
but is now in MN. Dave Cummings maintains and flys her.
Haven't talked to him in a while. Anyone up north ever see the a/c??

Yep thats the 500 I would buy.
Yeah, 1500 and I get a promotion. Another 10 or 20 years and I'll get another.
