Here are the n-numbers of at least three in the states currently powered by Bristols -

NX20MD - The TFC machine
N260X
N97SF

The War Eagles Museum has one as well with a Bristol engine, as told in flying condition, though I believe it hasn't flown in recent years.

Some others include:

VR930
G-CBEL
ZU-SEA - The former G-BTTA

I am very glad to hear that a Tempest is under restoration - I very much hope to see it to see it fly someday!

This is now in Australia, one of the three 'airworthy' examples currently not flying - nothing to do with the engine though.

In chatting with a friend this was actually old info from last season. RNHF had said they were interested
in Vintage V-12 overhauling VR930's Bristol and possibly having new rings and pistons made up for the
future...funding was mentioned in the same breath. The overhaul was to take 4 months..which if it
occurred...is last season's news. As for the new rings and pistons..dunno how that went or is in progress.

This news release is in the RNHF archives of November 2007. I edited the original link because the
home page takes you to VX281 rather than VR930.

The Ozzie bird I mentioned, I believe, is the unairworthy engine and airframe project you mentioned James.

I think it was probably T.Mk.20 TF987 which was lost with its pilot Carey Moore, in Sarnia, Ontario, during July, 2001.

We actually ( where I work ) just bought the exact same 3d printer.

Pretty neat stuff for prototyping.
