With the amount of experience thay have on Fury's, the Tempest should hopefully be not too far of a stretch in terms structure & systems.

Is it the one that was up for grabs in France a few months back ???

Nope. Nelson has had this bird for quite a while now.

One of the things missing on their website is that they not only can do a Mustang, but they also take on the impossible. They are currently rebuilding a Bearcat that was broken into 7 or 8 chunks. The Helldiver was rebuilt after being broken in half without the existence of any spare parts.
I stopped by there this summer and Nelson showed me how they modified the P-38 fuel system so that the pilot no longer has to have an advanced degree from M.I.T. to operate the P-38 without running tanks dry. He has also invented several mods to make the Sea Fury operable and fun.
The TT-1 Temco jet he rebuilt, one of something like 8 built, he changed the engine to a Learjet engine and added custom wing tip tanks for extra fuel.
If he can rebuild a Seafire, I bet he'll do a good job on the "impossible Tempest."

Curious as to how the Tempest went from N Grace after his passing away to N Ezell ?

Tks for the info, anyone knows if it will retain it's sleeves  :?:

Isn't this the one that Nick traded to the Bradley Air Museum (from memory) for the Short Sealand which he traded in turn to the Ulster Folk Transport Museum for Spitfire TE184.

Could someone explain 'sleeve valve' to me and how it operates? I'm a motorhead so no need to dumb down the description.
thanks,
Doug
