I just saw these pictures of a piper with a Super sabre in the backround and it looks airworthy,does anyone recognize the hun and does it fly ?
For that matter are there any F-100s that fly ?

Yes, it it flies and is based in Fort Wayne, IN. Last August it made fly-bys at the Indy Air Show.

There's also a single-seater in Thunderbirds markings that flies in Texas, and I think another single-seater and another two-seater flyable or close to it in the southwest (NM?). The single-seater is in Camo, I know that I've run into a gentleman who crews for it at airshows (I've run into him at airshows, the plane doesn't fly at airshows that I know of).

I wanna say I saw that fly out of Addison years ago, I think it was out of Sierra Hotel. I was just a kid though so......

The F-100 in the picture does inded live in Ft Wayne and is owned by Dean Cutshall.

The Thunderbird marked F100 is an F model and therefore a two seat. It lives in El Paso. That aircraft used to be in New Mexico ANG markings. To my knowledge that is the aircraft described as being in New Mexico. There are a few single seaters brought back to Mojave by BAE and were sold to some individuals in Wyoming but I don't think they have done much with them.

I talked with Dick, last week. The fire sale offer they are looking for is just north of 200,000.00. The J57 is pretty high time. The rest of the aircraft is really nice, I crawled around it last year.

One thing that makes it nonstandard, but it's a good thing, is that seats are Martin Baker. They are MK 5s, real similar to the MK7 in the F4. You can certainly see the family resemblance !

That's cool, it's cheap but my guess is you would need a whole team of mechanics to keep it going.

Ethan, one guy maintains it. I'm sure if he runs into something where he needs a hand, he gets it.

Wow I'm suprised it seems like a complicated aircraft,thats interesting though.

Saw one fly at Terre Haute Air Fair a few years back (2004 I think?). Really neat adn it makes a very unique noise as the after burner ( or what I thought was the afterburner) kickes in.

I might know where a couple are...
