Grrrr!!! Anybody else having photobucket issues? I had a security alert from a pop-up in Photobucket earlier today and nothing has worked right since after ratcheting up the defences!!! It is now only letting me link the thumbnail of the pic?!?!

This link may get in the back door..

That's great. I appreciate it....I'll look at it closer in the next few days.

Thanks for the overlay, Holedigger! The back way in worked fine. I had the same security alerts with Photobucket this morning, but after bailing out and going back later everything on my account seems to be working normally.

Jonas,

I think the use of that overlay and Steve Birdsall's photo of Werewolf on her hardstand have narrowed down the choice of parking spot to only a couple. My hunch is that her Saipan home is the hardstand I've marked here:
Image
The length of the taxiway from the parking spot to the "Y" intersection points to the spot I've marked. I put a question mark at the other three-ship complex, but the feeder taxiways are all too long. If you count the number of hardstands starting at the east end of the 497th area that particular pad is number 29. Given that there were sixty airplanes in a Group, this pad should be just about right for ship #28, providing that the aircraft were parked by Squadron and in some kind of order.

So...it appears to me that you should be able to stand on the spot where your uncle went to war, providing that more development hasn't occurred since the Google satellite shot was taken.

Scott
