Hawker Hurricane HL681 parked behind the remains of a HS-129 at Castel Benito, Libya 1943

Interesting. Looks more like a Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor tail section, but it's hard to get a sense of size. If it is it's unusual to have a Fw 200 in N Africa.
Definitely not a Hs 129 See the three view here:

Great find, Jack!

Boy ,it's close! That's my best guess!
I'm thinking not a Condor

Looks like a Condor...what I presume to be 'vortex generators' at the leading edge tip of the tailplane common to the Condor and the rudder hinge attachment would seem to indicate so.

Could be time to exchange Ponies, Jack.
I'm pretty certain it's a Condor, after a bit of digging around. Haven't found a good tail shot on the web, yet, but the endplate mass balances, round corner square section fuse (Hs 129 is triangular) and the narrow 'hinge' mass balance are all typical Condor.

Assuming it a Condor, interesting - presumably an ex-airliner version used and lost on a supply run, rather than a valuable maritime reckon job.

Now that's interesting.
It's time to breakout 'Fighters Over Tunisia''!

Going by the wreckage, looks like someone already broke out the fighters...

Very interesting perspectives on the shot. The hurricane looks rather large compared to the tail in the foreground, however there is a cylinder sitting even further forward that could give a decent size reference.

For what its worth, it looks like a Fw 200 Condor tail to me, too.

Pretty serious tail gear for anything other than a Condor.
