it seems that the plans to recover the remaining planes have been a lot of talk and promises, but i have yet to see any concrete action as one might expect if this project were in fact moving forward. no doubt, the logistics involved will be huge and i sincerely hope that they are able to pull it off, but i cant help but feel that this is more of a dream than reality. if they could somehow get all of the remaining planes up and out and somehow display them in a diorama type of fashion i think that would be a huge draw for people that are interested in this kind of thing. (does kermit weeks lurk here?) glacier girl certainly did appear to be in amazing shape, considering where she was found. i skimmed through a book once at pof and it showed the entire recovery proccesss as well as some good shots of one of the B-17's. it appeared to be as flat as a pancake, but still very interesting to see none the less. does anyone out there have any links to pics of the planes under the ice? i really wish that i had bought the book, but my 50 bucks went to a donation to piccadilly lilly instead. oh well, i got a cool bumper sticker to show for it anyway.,
