They appear to be Hurricane IIB Trop's of 134 Sqn, who operated in North Africa between Jan 1943 and November 1943.

Yeah, I know..BoB Hurris didn't have dust filters. That was just the first thing that lept to mind when I saw the pic.

The 'Skalski Circus' were operating Mk IX Spitfires by the time they got to North Africa.

I think the squadron code is "GO", which would make it 129 Squadron. However, they never left the European theatre. 134 Squadron was "GV". Maybe this is an RAAF unit in the Pacific or Far East?

Come on Jack, where did you get this photo?

Methinks these are from 94 Squadron RAF - North Africa.

134 Sqn also used GQ, which is what I believe these are, so I still reckon 134 Sqn.

I think 134 Squadron GQ in the Far East, when they got to India.

134 used GQ codes in Russia before they got to Egypt.

Inclined to go with your 94 Sqn idea then, although only photos I can find of WD 94 Hurris' are cannon IIC versions, and these appear to be IIB Trop's, which is why I went for 134 Sqn. :?

Firebird,

This photo purports to show eight of 94 Squadron's Hurricane IIb's patrolling the Delta area from El Gamil in the summer of 1942.
