B-29-40-MO 44-27353 The Great Artiste

The only plane to fly both atomic missions. It was scrapped at Goose Bay in September 1949, despite its historical significance (it had been badly damaged in a landing accident). A shame it wasn't preserved.

The B-17G 42-32076 Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby and another personal favourite, 41-24521 Black Jack.

I can't understand how anyone could ever get upset about the B-24D Strawberry Bitch.

I don't understand the question(s).

Is it 'bombers that should've been preserved, but weren't?'

And:

'Bombers that have problems because some consider their names offensive?'

TIA.

Yeah, after I posted, I got a little confused as well.

I'm assuming famous bombers that could have been saved but weren't?

I guess mine could fit in the famous bombers in general, angle as well.

While you're at it, you might as well throw in "Thumper", one of my favorite Superforts. :D
