I was looking at FOX news dot com, (yeah, I know but I like to look at all sides), and it says, "F-15 pilots talk about the Schrenker mystery". In another place it says Schrenker missing.

This computer will only get still stories, not play the video. Does anyone know what this story is ?, Is or was he a U S pilot?

And is this warbird related? Well, since I can't see the story, I can't be sure, but it might be if it is an F-15 pilot and you consider a modern jet as a warbird.

If not, I am sure one of the Wix experts will be here telling me that it is the wrong topic.

he's the guy who called in a fake distress call enroute from IN to FL (I think) in a Piper meridian. Said the windshield broke-he bailed out and the plane flew on into the florida panhandle where it augered in. He's under investigation for all sorts of fraud and his wife left him.
He also has an extra and flew aerobatics in it. there's a lot of chat on the Acro mail list about him. He had a motorcycle stashed near where he bailed and was on the run until they caught him last night-with his wrist slashed.
Incredible that someone would purposely turn his plane into a missle.
Maybe the TSA will have a whole new set of things for us after this? Luckily no one was hurt on the ground, but it landed near houses.

He was from Indianapolis and kind of notorious around here, apparently. Check out indystar.com for more.

I hadn't heard that they'd nabbed him..good thing! I suppose his plan to fake his death might have worked if the plane had had enough gas to get out over the Gulf. Deliberately abandoning an aircraft over a populated area? Hope they throw his butt UNDER the jail!

He has made a bit of a "splash" in the new here in FL. One of the video clips being played is of him flying his Extra, shot with a cockpit cam, shows him fly under what appears to be two highway bridges in succession. I thought this was a NO NO! Guess he'll lose his GA License now though!

The bridge thing was an organized stunt. There was some other information on it on the local news channel, but I didn't see any links on the website. I believe it was also televised.

Is it me or is it just a coincidence that all of these Investment Weenies that are ripping people off have these names that "mirror" their occupation.
"Made Off" or is it Madoff, Shrenker or is it "Shrinker". This Shrenker guy is gonna be some "Bad Man's" boyfriend for a long time. So's Madoff.

Skybolt,

You are so right I'm afraid. Here is what the NPRM will probably contain:

Henceforth all GA pilots must comply with the following and forward the appropriate documents to TSA:
-All autopilots are to be removed from GA aircraft.
-pilots are prohibited from taking part or receiving instruction in any sort of skydiving activity.
-pilots are required to receive monthly psych evals and forward the results to TSA.
-pilots will have to attend marriage couseling sessions and forward the results to TSA (not applicable if single).
-pilots will forward all financial statements to TSA to prove financial stability.
-All doors on GA aircraft will be required to be bolted from the outside on departure by a lineman, and un-bolted open upon arrival at the destination. No provision will be made for the door to be opened by the pilot. However windows will still be permitted to open/close as long as they do not permit a person from passing through them.

  :)

O K, guys thanks. I had seen that story of course, what threw me off was the part about the F-15 pilots, and the name did not ring a bell.

Aren't those just the Florida ANG pilots who intercepted the pilotless aircraft after the mayday call?

I saw on the Today Show this morning that joker Dan Abrams calling this a case of "domestic terrorism"
Let's hope THAT doesn't get too much play.

Imagine that,
A Hefty Malibuski does not go as far when you leave the door open.

And I thought if you lose all of your money you gained brains!
