This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

That should be the summer of '92. That year the DT birds did a nationwide tour of airports. I caught up with them at MSV (Monticello, Sullivan Co, NY) in July. I have a similar video home.
It wasn't an airshow per se, but they allowed people to get up close to the planes and they were flown one at a time, making passes down the runway.
In addition to the aircraft mentioned for this video, MSV had a C-46 in civil markings, and the P-47 Big Ass Bird flown by Jeff Ethel that day. (This ship is Tarheel Hal today). The P-51 at the show was Bob Tulius' Donald Duck, which is now at the RAF Museum Hendon.
Back in the 90's these type of tours seemed to be the big thing, celebrating the 50th Anniv of WW2. The CAF came to town in '91 at ISP and again in '93 at FOK. That was the last time I saw FIFI and got to tour her and sit in the cockpit.

Right now I believe there group is somewhat planted at Geneseo with the B-17 and some other goodies. I for one hope that they end up staying there for awhile!
