It's amazing!

I'd love to see him do a 17 or 24.

He has. His name is Matt Swan and his signature piece is a PB4Y-1. You can check out his builds on his website http://www.swannysmodels.com/

He didn't do the Helldiver. Someone else did but he just had the pics on Swanny's forum.

Thanks for pointing that out! I have been checking out that forum for months now and was for some reason just thought it was him that was doing the model. Silly me!!!! It is the most amazing piece of model making that I have ever seen though. Once again , thanks for putting me straight on that.

No problem. I wish I could see it in person.

Unfortunately the entire piece was wiped out along with all the posts the site. Some assh@les hacked the site and Swann had to start over.

darn shame as the thread about building the Helldiver was one of the best threads I have ever read about building models.

Fortunately, the Helldiver build log is alive and well at www.aircraftresourcecenter.com. Go to the "Forums" page, then select the "In progress pics" sub-forum, and run a search on "Helldiver" (or just click the link below.) The thread is about 30 pages long (still a long way to go to beat the Ol' 927 thread!)

Thanks Steve.
I was about 2/3rds of the way through reading it when it evaporated.
