I just read the feature story in the Houston Barnacle about the dedication of the USS George HW Bush, CVN-77 carrier. Four F/A-18's made a fly by and then an Avenger came over. Whose Avenger? Anybody got pix?

blue skies,
Doug

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Fighter Factory's or Tom Duffy's.

Great looking ceremony. I just saw the Bush over Christmas while visiting, moored to the last pier. (the only ship not strung with Christmas lights)

I don't know about the dedication today, but a couple of years ago when they "laid the keel" for it, or whatever the first step is of the construction, the flyover was done by the Avenger painted in the markings of GHWB from WWII. Wouldn't surprise me if they got the same airplane to do it again, given the connection.

The only Avenger I know of in GHW Bush's colors is one of the CAF's (http://www.warbirdregistry.org/avengerr ... 53353.html).

I think it's assigned to the Missouri Wing, but I'm not sure.

Somebody on another forum said it was the Fighter Factory's TBM. I saw the flyby on TV..looked like the same aircraft as the one on FF's website.

It was Jerry Yagen's bird.

The four-ship F-18F flyover was from VFA-211:
